Rod Varley is a photographer and arts consultant based in Anglesey, North Wales.

After studying photography and film at Derby he moved to London where he set-up the gallery and cinema at Watermans Arts Centre; in 1988 he was appointed Senior Curator for Film at the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television and was responsible for leading the Pictureville Cinema and Cinerama projects; he went on to set-up Harbour Lights Cinema in Southampton; oversaw the re-opening of The Everyman in Hampstead and was Managing Director of the Association of Photographers.

In addition to his photographic practice, Rod is retained by ixia, the UK’s Public Art Think Tank.
